Q: What’s your advice for young women starting out in the music business?
A:Empower yourself. Study your craft and learn the industry. Take the time to do your research. When you’re getting into this, know that it’s not all “Oh, they’re going to take my picture! I’m going to dance and have a good time!” Learn what’s going on.

Q: True or false: you really have a tattoo of Massachusetts?
A:True! I got it about three months ago. It’s an outline of the state by my ribcage. I don’t make it home much, so I always have it with me.
Q:Do you have a favorite tour snack?
JoJo: Yeah, I love gold fish! They’re delicious. I do a combination — I do a plastic bowl: put whole wheat gold fish and put trail mix and caramel cashews and stuff, and that’s my snack!
